Arizona's Democrats Internet balloting approved by Justice Department
Friday, February 25, 2000
Arizona's Democrats got Internet balloting for its 11 March
primary (still being billed as the "world's first binding vote via the
Internet") approved by the U.S. Justice Department today [25 February 2000] but the Attorney General, Janet Reno, indicated that the voting will be watched very closely by her department... however, there is still an ongoing lawsuit at the state level re: possible discrimination, as the argument against Internet voting relates to minorities having fewer computers per capita than whites. |
