The Popular Vote above is based on official returns
from the 23 May Primary. The popular vote in this primary has no
bearing on delegate allocation.
(NOTE: there are Precinct Caucuses on Saturday 11 March 2000 open to any
registered Republican but these are used to choose local GOP officials
and have nothing whatever to do with the delegate selection process!).
Saturday 18 March 2000: County Mass Conventions (except Jefferson
County) will meet at the County Courthouse in each county in Kentucky at
10 A.M. local time- these are open to any registered Republican in the
county who was registered as such before 25 January 2000.
Saturday 15 April 2000: the Jefferson County Conventions (Jefferson
County is divided between two Congressional Districts, hence the plural)
will be held.
- The County Conventions will choose the county's delegates to both the
State Convention and the District Convention of the Congressional
District of which the county is a part.
Saturday 20 May 2000: Congressional District Conventions will be held in
the following Congressional Districts: CDs # 1, # 2, # 3 and # 5.
Saturday 3 June 2000: Congressional District Conventions will be held in
the following Congressional Districts: CDs # 4 and # 6.
- The 6 Congressional District Conventions each allocate 3 National
Convention delegates among the presidential contenders proportional to
their support among the delegates to each District Convention- a total
of 18 delegates to the Republican National Convention will be allocated
by these District Conventions.
Saturday 10 June 2000: The Kentucky Republican State Convention will be
held. The State Convention will allocate Kentucky's 13 at-large (6 base
plus 7 bonus) delegates to the Republican National Convention among the
presidential contenders proportional to their support among the
delegates to the State Convention.
