Virginia law states that there will be no primary in races "when less than two candidates declare" [Code of Virginia §24.2-526]. The Democratic and Republican parties may choose to nominate by convention or primary election. The deadline to notify the State Board of Elections of the adoption of the primary election is TBD. Nominees must be selected by TBD. |
