For all offices EXCEPT President of the United States, if no candidate receives 50% of the vote plus 1 in the General Election, the top 2 vote getters will advance to a runoff. Georgia 31 July 2012 primary: When no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in the 31 July 2012 primary, a 21 August 2012 runoff is held between the two top vote-getters. Contests proceeding to a runoff:
Ballots from Military and Overseas voters must be executed and sent no later than 7:00 p.m. EDT on 21 August 2012 and received no later than 31 August 2012 in order to be counted.
