Persons who wish to become Democrats are afforded the opportunity to register as a Democrat. Saturday 26 March 2016 (presumably): Alaska Precinct / House District Caucuses. Delegate Pledging: Proportional Caucus/Convention. Voter Eligibility: Closed Caucus/Convention.
Saturday 26 March 2016 (presumably): Tier 1 House District Caucuses. All precincts within each of the state's 40 House Districts combine to hold House District-wide Caucuses to choose delegates to the State Convention. Such delegates are allocated to presidential contenders in proportion to the percentage of the support each candidate receives at the Caucus. There are multiple rounds of voting call "fan-outs". In each round candidates receiving less than 15% of the vote are eliminated. How the Democratic Proportional Delegate Allocation Math works. The apportionment of delegates to the National Convention by Presidential Preference will be determined by the delegates at the State Convention but can be estimated using the results of today's caucuses.
