Tuesday 15 March 2016 (presumably): All 9 of Northern Marianas' delegates to the Republican National Convention are chosen in today's Commonwealth Republican Caucus.

  • The caucus will hold two votes: 1) Presidential Preference, followed by 2) election of Delegates. The 6 delegates will be elected individually and will be bound to the winner of the Presidential Preference vote.
  • The 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Northern Marianas's Republican Party, will attend the convention by virtue of their position bound to the winner of the Presidential Preference vote.

Delegates are bound for the first ballot at the Republican National Convention. Should the candidate withdraw his or her candidacy prior to the Republican National Convention, all delegates will convene and determine as a group which candidate to support as a group on the first ballot. On all ballots after, delegates will be free to vote as individuals.
