Participation in Tennessee's delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate as Democrats. Voters are not required to declare a party preference; however, they must request a Democratic primary ballot to vote in the presidential preference primary. Tuesday 5 March 2024: Tennessee Primary. Hours reportedly 7:00a-8:00p EST / 8:00a-7:00p CST (1400-0100 UTC). The polls close at the same GMT/UTC time, that is, polls close at a particular local time in the advanced time zone and close one hour earlier local time in the lagging time zone. 63 of 72 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Tennessee Presidential Primary. Write-in candidates are allowed. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level.
