All 17 of Vermont's delegates to the Republican National Convention are bound to presidential contenders in today's Presidential Primary. [Rules of the Vermont Republican State Committee, Rule 12. i.]

  • If one candidate receives 50% or more of the statewide vote, that candidate receives all 17 delegates.
  • Otherwise, the statewide delegates are proportionally bound to those candidates receiving at least 20% of the statewide vote. If no candidate receives 20%, the threshold is 15%. If no candidate receives 15%, the threshold is 10%.
  • Fractional delegates will be rounded to the nearest whole number. If rounding results in too many delegates (more than 17), the excess delegates will be subtracted from the candidate who received the fewest votes of all candidates entitled to delegates. If rounding results in too few delegates (less than 17), the additional delegates will be added to the candidate who received the most votes.
